I don’t like Taylor Swift.
Along with a number of other singers/songwriters, but I think we can all agree that she’s the most notable for the following.

I don’t really care if it “helps her deal with her breakups” or whatever; the frequency at which she sends the message that its okay to call someone a monster, merely because you couldn’t make a relationship work, is disturbing.

Seriously though. I feel like she’s constantly putting out this message that if a guy breaks your heart, you’re allowed to spend forever bashing him, and telling everyone that he’s a bad person.

I fail to understand how that’s not straight-up bullying. And have we not learned from the news and from our friends or even just vague acquaintances that there are people that end up getting so much hate that they feel like the only way out is to kill themselves?

Exhibiting that kind of malevolence and causing emotional harm to any person is not okay, regardless of how many pop icons try to tell you that it is.

I just went back through my blog pretty far back. These are my reactions to various things I unearthed:

"'His mom said he really likes you.' WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO??": love him, obviously. ♥
excitement about the NYC trip: That was still the greatest trip of my life. :)
my friends not being there for me: They've been there for me. ALWAYS. What on earth was I thinking?
a TON of Harry Potter gifs: Can I skip graduation and just have a movie party instead?
the day my parents said no guy will ever want to be in a relationship with me.: ...Haha, okay. TAKE THAT. :P (Irony: they seriously love him.)
my first posts: lol, Bright Eyes.... jk no. Bright Eyes is still awesome.

All your friends when you start dating someone:

“OMG tell us everything!”

Heh. Hehe. Story of my day. And I don’t even think I mind :)

“It’s the good kind of awkward; you’ll come to love it, I promise.”

Most brilliantly-worded advice of the day.

Random confession: I’ve never been in a relationship, and I’m still not convinced that that’ll ever change.

On a night like this, I need to be comforted. Not necessarily by words, but by the presence of someone next to me.
